How to Throw a Simple and Elegant Garden Party

Having your niece named after you isn’t a tiny thing. It comes with a lot of responsibility. One of them is an excuse to throw her a celebration of creation party on her 365th day from conception. A simple and elegant garden party sounds perfect, But how to throw a simple and elegant garden party remains the question. Don’t worry, I’ve got some ideas.

Simple Decor Can Be Elegant

First, we will need decorations and for a garden party that means a lot of artificial flowers. My niece’s birth flower is a carnation, so I went on Amazon but couldn’t find a fair price, so I went off to Temu. I found so many amazing deals and options for artificial bulk flowers. I ultimately settled on these beautiful artificial carnations in pink and champagne. I also got these mini rose vines in pink to wrap around the deck or lay on the tables.

When they arrived, I was crossing my fingers that the reviews were true, haha. I was pleasantly surprised and can not wait to showcase them. I still needed vases to put the flowers in, but I wasn’t sure how elegant I wanted my garden party. If I went clear glass, it would definitely give off a classy look, which I love, but since it was my baby niece’s creation party, I wanted it to be a bit more colorful, so I went with these color bud vases in bulk.

A small touch that goes a long way is a tasteful tablecloth. Since I wanted a whimsical approach to this garden party, I wanted a white lace tablecloth. This would add an elegant feel to our garden party but keep it fun. I found this one on Amazon and bought two.

Those are the simple decorations that will add elegance to your garden party. Flowers, vases, and tablecloths. Now, on to dinnerware.

Dinnerware, The Good and The Bad

It’s all fun in games till your dinnerware doesn’t match the theme. As a grown adult, I wanted to bring out the china, but we all have kids at these events (sigh), so plastic it is. Don’t worry. We can still make it look elegant-ish. If you trust yourself and the adults around you, then by all means, bring out the good dinnerware. I personally found that if you look far and wide, you will find something that brings you joy. I am happy to share this really cute garden-theme dinnerware I found on Amazon. I guess I have a lot of trust, haha. I hate plastic.

The last thing I wanted to get for our garden party was a teapot set because a garden party isn’t a garden party without tea…(or wine). When I say I have been looking for ages for a teapot set that I can bring out or keep on display, I mean it’s been months, but I’ve finally found an option that I am very happy with. Now, just stick your favorite tea in there, and you are ready to sip pinky out.

Food and Dessert

When it comes to food. Keep it light and easy. It’s a garden party, after all, not a barbecue. You obviously have to have finger foods. You can never go wrong with a fruit platter and small hand-held sandwiches. That sort of thing. Where you will really need to shine is the dessert. I have decided to have cake, and I have found so much inspiration on Pinterest. Look at all these beautiful wild flower-inspired cakes:

Aren’t all these so inspired? I absolutely love them all! I am no baker, so I will be showing these to my favorite local baker to see if she can make me something similar. I am really excited. And that is my blueprint for how to throw a simple and elegant garden party.

I will keep you all posted on how everything turns out. Wish me luck! I love you. Bye
